Who is Gladys Fay?

“Her children will rise up and call her blessed”  proverbs 31:28

This Christian Bookstore and Cafe is dedicated to the memory of our mother, Gladys Fay Mitchell Anderson.

Let me tell you a little bit about her.

“Fay” as she was known by all who knew and loved her, was born August 3, 1920 in Houston, MO.

She was orphaned at a very young age and lived with relatives and in foster homes from time to time.

She married the love of her life, Ralph, at the age of 19. As a young home maker, she came to know the Lord of her life, Jesus. After that, her life was never the same!

She had 10 beautiful babies and they were all her favorites. If any one of them needed anything she did her best to get it, whether she had to build it, dye it, sew it or cook it.

She was the best cook for miles around and she taught her children to be the same, boys and girls.

She always did everything in light of the scriptures! If it was in the Book, she did it and it was right and good. If it wasn’t in the Book she didn’t do it; she never even considered it.

She never took advantage of anyone, and we were taught that if you borrowed something, you gave it back in as good or better condition than when you got it.

The reason I know  this about her is because I was her first born, Brenda. The rest of her flock consisted of Ken, Richard, Linda, Charlie, Ron, Victoria, Julie, Laurie and Steve.,

She had supper with the Lord on December 1st, 2009, and we miss her terribly. She was our mother, our advisor when we were confused, our comforter when we were sad, our nurse when we were sick, and our spiritual counselor when we were faced with life’s challenges. Most of all, she was to us, a perfect example of the Proverbs 31 woman.
